  32. Well, guess what! Most people -don't- need an MMU. Most can live without 
  33. an FPU as well. Your games won't play any faster with an MMU aboard. You 
  34. can't telecompute any better, or word process any better. OK, you really 
  35. -want- to have an FPU if you are doing rendering or scientific work. You 
  36. -need- an MMU if you have a multi-user system or if you are trying to 
  37. cheap out on RAM by swapping to the HD. When was the last time you had 
  38. two users on your Amiga at once?
  39.     OK, truth is they may have made their decision based on the cost 
  40. of the processor and then justified it with the truth - most people just 
  41. don't have any use for what an MMU provides. Most people who insist on an 
  42. MMU (or FPU) in a home computer are more interested in the ego boost from 
  43. having the sharpest toys around than in any real use they might put it 
  44. to. That doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer -having- it, but try being honest 
  45. about it. And, hey! I didn't have to delete one expletive.
